ABOUT

The Chiacchiarini farm is a centuries-old farm in the heart of Italy and Umbria. They produce hand-made Italian pecorino cheese, quality extra virgin Umbrian olive oil, as well as black truffles and mountain cereals such as farro. They also offer the ‘Wild Foods Cooking Lesson‘ which involves, with one of the family members as a guide, an excursion into the beautiful countryside around the farm to hunt for seasonal ‘wild’ delicacies such as truffles, mushrooms, or asparagus, then back to the farmhouse to learn how to cook it into a traditional Umbrian lunch.

Their Montefalco property lies on the rolling slopes of Montefalco’s reknowned Sagrantino wine area, amongst ancient olive groves and vineyards. The beautiful, historic walled village of Montefalco is just a stroll away. The family house is a stunning ex-monastery dating back to the 14th century. During the hot summer months, the family walk the flock to the ancestral pastures of Pettino, high in the Appenine mountains, the home of the greatest Italian pecorino cheese. The best Italian olive oil comes form the rocky slopes of Campello sul Clitunno, at the base of the mountain where the Chiacchiarini have extensive groves. The area is also rich in black truffles and the Chiacchiarini are excellent truffleers.
